Guest post guidelines

To make it easier for us to assess your article, please follow these guidelines:

Relevant to our niche

Content must be relevant to our topics and to the interests of our readers — locals, holidaymakers and people planning a trip to Whangamata or the Coromandel.

Informative and genuinely useful

The article must be informative and give readers real value.

Original content

Submit your own work that has not been published anywhere else.

Reliable sources

Support statistics, research findings and factual claims with relevant sources.

Minimum length

Articles should be at least 800 words. In-depth guides usually work best at 1,200+ words.

Clear language

Use a logical structure, descriptive headings and short paragraphs.

Image rights

If you include images, you must have permission to use them and provide any required credit.

Important about gambling: Articles with gambling-related content or links are welcome, but the title must not contain gambling words (e.g. casino, betting, odds or slots), and the article must not have gambling as its main focus.

All submissions are reviewed before publication. We may suggest changes or edit accepted articles for clarity, accuracy and readability. Submitting an article is no guarantee of publication. We usually reply within 5 working days.

Links and placement

All accepted articles are published under these link terms:

Dofollow linksLinks in the article are dofollow backlinks.
No sponsored tagThe article and its links are not marked as sponsored.
Permanent placementThe article stays permanently on Whangamata.co.
1 client linkOne link to your client, placed naturally in the text — not in a promotional way.

If you represent a company, an agency or a client as part of your link building, please say so in your email — we will get back to you with the details and conditions that apply to your post.

What we do not publish

  • Content written to place a link rather than to be read.
  • Text that has been published elsewhere, in whole or in part.
  • Claims about prices, returns, property values or results that cannot be documented.
  • Content that promises financial gain, or gambling content aimed at people under 18.
  • Purely AI-generated text that has not been fact-checked by a human.

Editorial control and removal

Publication is not guaranteed. Receiving a pitch or an article implies no promise of publication. Our editorial team assesses every article and every link individually. We may remove or correct material afterwards if information turns out to be incorrect, misleading, or in breach of these guidelines or applicable law.

Commercial contributions

If a contribution is sponsored, commissioned by a third party or otherwise paid for — in money, goods or services — this must be stated in your pitch. Such material is published only if it is genuinely relevant to our readers, and on the terms we agree in writing. Undeclared commercial content will not be published, and if discovered afterwards it will be removed.

Rights

You keep the copyright to your text. By submitting it, you grant Whangamata.co a non-exclusive, perpetual right to publish the article on whangamata.co, to edit it for language and structure, and to use excerpts in our own channels. You warrant that you hold the rights to the text and any images, and that the content does not infringe the rights of third parties. If you later want to publish the text elsewhere, contact us and we will find a solution.

Liability

Articles express the author’s own views and do not constitute financial, legal, property or safety advice. The author is responsible for the accuracy of the content. Whangamata.co accepts no liability for decisions made on the basis of guest posts.
