Whangamata is a stunning coastal town on the eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand’s Waikato region. Known for its world-class surf beach, pristine estuary, and the iconic Donut Island (Whenuakura Island), Whangamata attracts visitors year-round.

Located approximately 2 hours southeast of Auckland, Whangamata sits on the Pacific coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. The town is accessible via State Highway 25 from Waihi or via the scenic Tairua Road.
