About Whangamata Marina
Whangamata Marina at 621 Beach Road is one of only three marinas on the Coromandel Peninsula, sheltered inside Whangamata Harbour with construction beginning in 2008 and the first boat berthing in November 2009. The marina has 209 berths ranging from 10.5m to 20m, each with full-length fingers, spacious fairways, and individual pedestals providing water and power. Facilities include a 24-hour fuel jetty, evening security patrols, summer coffee and food service, and free parking.
As the operational heart of the harbour, the marina is your gateway to the stunning waterways of the Coromandel. We offer comprehensive visitor berthing with full power and water, modern shower and laundry facilities, and a dedicated pump-out station. The onsite Harbourmaster’s office provides local knowledge, tide information, and safety advice. Secure vehicle parking is available for berth holders and visitors.
What truly sets us apart is our commitment to a vibrant, protected marine environment. Our modern design prioritises safe, all-weather berthing with minimal environmental impact. The marina basin is dredged to ensure easy access at all tides, and our location provides direct, sheltered access to the harbour’s renowned fishing grounds, the iconic Whenuakura (Donut) Island, and the Pacific Ocean beyond.
