About Whangamata Motor Camp
Whangamata Motor Camp at 104 Barbara Avenue offers over 70 powered sites on level grassy ground for motorhomes, caravans, and tents, plus 8 cabins styled like 1950s beach baches equipped with small kitchens. Less than 100 metres from the beach and close to town, with facilities including communal kitchen, showers, laundry, dump station, BBQ, playground, and a Chill Out Room for wet weather. Pet-friendly for most of the year, excluding late December to January and Beach Hop weekend.
Our camp is your perfect base for exploring the Coromandel. We’re a short walk from the famous Whangamata surf beach, estuary kayaking, and the town’s excellent cafes. The local Saturday market is a must-visit. For longer stays, our location provides easy access to the Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Cove, and stunning coastal walks.

What is your check-in and check-out time?
Check-in is from 2:00 PM and check-out is by 10:00 AM for all sites and cabins. Early or late arrangements may be possible by prior arrangement, depending on availability.
Are pets allowed at the camp?
We welcome well-behaved dogs on leads at our powered and non-powered sites, but unfortunately, they are not permitted in our cabin accommodation. Please ensure you clean up after your pet.
Do you have WiFi available?
Yes, we provide WiFi coverage across the campground. Access vouchers can be purchased from our on-site managers for a small fee to cover the service cost.
